È costituita da applicazioni software che hanno lo scopo di fungere da interfaccia tra il software gestionale (ERP o MES) e le macchine conformi ad Industria 4.0, permettendone lo scambio di informazioni nelle due direzioni, “l’interconnessione” e “l’integrazione automatizzata con i sistemi logistici della fabbrica”.
